RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY! Yes I know we need it...but rain can make days painfully long! How do people actually live in the Northwest???

crib mattress for jumping (we bought a cheep one that we use all the time), sheet or table cloth for forts built over the table or with chairs, swap toys with a friend: gather up some favorites that you can part with for 3-4 weeks, put them in a laundry basket. swap with a friend. you will have re-newed interest in toys. -Jill
This may make some moms cringe but I put on the rain boots, warm clothes, rain jackets, hand them umbrellas and go out splashing in the puddles. We then go take hot baths and have hot chocolate. Kids go out and play in the snow right? Well, we have rain. Why not?

make play dough with...cooking is fun, too. Lots of breaks for snacks and letting them build a big fort in the living room.
